Online wine retailer Virgin Wines has recently launched their 2022 wine-based advent calendar. Wine lovers everywhere can enjoy a different wine across the first 24 days of December in their best engraved crystal wine glasses.
Wine enthusiasts can choose their advent calendar to be either all white wines, all red wines, or a mixture of the two behind advent calendar doors. The wines featured in the calendar come from a range of countries all over the world.
Virgin Wines have redesigned the calendar this year so that it features 30% less packaging, a new wreath on the front designed by a local wreath maker, as well as new grape varieties to try. Behind each of the 24 doors, there is a 18.7cl bottle of wine, although the 25th day features a bonus full size bottle to enjoy on Christmas day.
CEO of Virgin Wines, Jay Wright, expressed his excitement for the launch:
“Christmas is an opportunity for people to come together and enjoy as many magical moments – and glasses of wine – as possible.”
This is the sixth year that Virgin Wines have released advent calendars and they were the first retailer to do so back in 2016. The increasing popularity of novelty advent calendars does not seem to be slowing down, and this early release gives people the opportunity to pre-order these before they sell out.
The company also has other advent calendars available for those who prefer a different type of alcoholic beverage, a gin advent calendar to enjoy in a special engraved gin glass, or the beer advent calendar to enjoy in engraved pint glasses.
