How to create a bar in your garden

Back to Blog

For many, 2021 means spending your annual summer holiday at home, as COVID-19 restrictions continue to curb travel to several popular holiday destinations. However, this doesn’t mean that you can’t get inventive in making your own personal space into a fun and relaxing place to spend your summer. With a little imagination and to suit any budget, you can turn your outside space into the perfect bar.

Pop-up bar

Creating a pop-up bar in the garden can be a fun project. Choose a theme to match drinkware and accessories, such as a tiki bar for exotic cocktails or a traditional country pub complete with an engraved tankard ready for frothy traditional ale. You may also decide to spend a little more time and money building a dedicated bar area in your garden, with outdoor fridges and coolers.

Alternate options

A garden shed can be converted into a great bar area or mini-pub – perfect for those unexpected summer showers. If your budget is tight, you could use a drinks trolley, which can be wheeled in and out as needed. This can be a classy addition with an ice bucket and matching engraved glassware.

Whatever you decide, make sure you stock your area with a good selection of drinks and drinkware, from wine glasses and beer tankards to cocktail and whisky glasses. You could also use engraved glasses to personalise each drink and add a little fun to the proceedings. A staycation may not be your personal choice, but it can still be fun and enjoyable.
