Hollywood star adds gin label to alcohol portfolio

Fans of cinema and sprits will be breaking out their engraved highball glasses at the news that A-list actor Brad Pitt is launching a brand-new gin label. As part of collaboration with Matthieu Perrin of Famille Perrin, the respected French winery and Tom Nichol, the master distiller, Pitt is releasing “The Gardener French Riviera Gin” brand.

The Hollywood headliner is no stranger to the alcohol industry. In 2008, he and his then-wife Angelina Jolie bought a winery in Correns France specialising in rosé called Château Miraval. While Jolie sold her stake, Pitt retained the label as part of his portfolio and his move to gin in the first step of diversification reported to date.

Pitt is not the only celebrity to get involved in the alcohol trade. Actor Matthew McConaughey serves as creative director for Wild Turkey bourbon, while Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s Teremana Tequila Reposado is designed for sipping. Dan Ackroyd of Ghostbusters fame has a vodka label (Crystal Head Vodka), while Ryan Reynolds has also launched a gin label of his own, Aviation Gin. Stars of the hit show Breaking Bad, Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul, partnered up on a project in real life to produce a mezcal brand known as Dos Hombres.

Gardener French Riviera Gin is classed as a dry London gin and is distilled using a wheat base combined with a complex botanical infusion of juniper, lemon, liquorice, coriander, pink grapefruit, angelica and Cap d’Antibes orange.

Organic certified, the gin is ideal for Negronis, Martinis and a classic G&T.
