Manchester awaits wine and crisps evening

A new wine tasting event has recently been scheduled in Manchester, but along with sipping various wines from your favourite engraved crystal wine glasses, this event comes with a special twist.

Open Kitchen in Manchester is hosting its first wine and crisps evening at the end of September, which is said to be ‘a wine tasting event with a difference’. The evening is aimed at wine lovers of any expertise so that everyone can enjoy it in an effort to eliminate any intimidation or added seriousness that other wine tasting events may present.

However, ‘Chips and Sips’, as the event has been dubbed, has the same principle of other wine tasting events with the tasting of wines and the following comparison of different flavours. However, this event pairs the wines with some classic crisps in an attempt to bring the Northern aspect into it.

Some of the crisps on offer include favourites such as Wotsits, Monster Munch and Frazzles. These can all be sampled alongside the special wines on offer from family run vineyards via C&O Wines. Guests can learn how each crisp compliments the wine in their best engraved wine glass.

As Open Kitchen is focused on sustainability, this ethical stance will also be at the heart of ‘Chips and Sips’, with every snack on offer being suitable for vegetarians; each wine available is also either fully organic or exposed to minimal intervention methods.

The first ‘Chips and Sips’ takes place on Thursday 22nd September at Open Kitchen Cafe and Bar.
