Since back in 2008, the Eurovision Song Contest winner has taken home an iconic glass trophy in the shape of a microphone. This award features a custom design, that was created especially for Eurovision.
A unique piece of hand-made art, the trophy is crafted from solid transparent glass with painted and sand-blasted detailing. It was designed by the Swedish visual artist Kjell Engman of Kosta Boda, who has worked with glass artists for over thirty years. In recent years, his work has focused on art glass, now exhibited all around the world.
The composers and song writers of the winning Eurovision entry also receive glass awards in the form of smaller editions of the trophy.
The Eurovision Song Contest 2023 will take place at Liverpool Arena in the UK on the 9th, 11th, and 13th of May.
