For its upcoming 40th anniversary, EPCOT at Walt Disney World Resort has showcased its new celebration logo this August with new merchandise at the ‘One Family Pin Celebration’ at the park.
Guests at the pin celebration event, where fans gather and honour a popular pin trading tradition, got an exclusive look at the new logo featured on several new pins, one for each country in the world of EPCOT.
Pin traders at the event also got a first look at some of the merchandise featuring the new logo, including a pin display banner. There will no doubt be many more items to purchase for the anniversary celebration if past celebrations are anything to go by, such as engraved drinkware and items of clothing.
During the pandemic, things were a little difficult within the Florida park, as not only did it shut down for four months, but it also took a while before the country itself could welcome new guests.
However, things are starting to get back to normal this year, including the lifting of face mask mandates. Character meet and greets are back on and new rides and attractions are in the works.
For its 40th anniversary, EPCOT seems to be planning something big, reportedly beginning this October, to coincide with the actual date the park opened its doors for the first time, 1st October 1982.
Walt Disney World itself is also currently celebrating its 50th anniversary with an ongoing event called ‘Party in the Parks’, which will have its own set of elaborate festivities.
